PO‘IPU — A 71-year-old man from Massachusetts was an apparent drowning victim Wednesday morning in Po‘ipu, a county news release states.
The visitor was found at around 11:50 a.m. floating face down in the water fronting the Beach House Restaurant roughly 50 yards offshore.
Swimmers in the area pulled the man to shore and contacted Police Dispatch.
The man was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
