She was preceded in death by great-grandfathers Rev. Charles L. Mahi Jr. and Alfred S. Rivera Sr.; great-grandmothers Phyllis Mahi and Rev. Adelinve W. Keale Rivera; grandpa Peter Rivera Sr. and great-grandparents Herbert and Elizabeth Kaneholani Sr.
She is survived by parents Anolani Higashi and Kelo Rivera of Anahola; brother Kobe Rivera Viloria; grandparents Yukio and Olinda Higashi, Cindy (Simon Texeira) Mahi Rivera; numerous uncles, aunties and cousins.

Lambert “Kela” Paul Lukela Alapai Jr. of Kapa‘a died July 20, 2009, at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital at age 32. Born Sept. 12, 1976, in Lihu‘e, he was a painter.
He is survived by parents Lambert and Karen Alapai Sr.; fiance Christy Pimental; sons Kana‘i Oliver, Kyler Davis, Keawe Alapai-Pimental; daughter Zaiana Alapai-Pimental; brother Kanbert Alapai; sister Jacklyn Alapai; grandparents Flora Iseri, Harry (Patricia) Higashi, Michiko Higashi; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Visitation from 9-10:45 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 29, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa‘a. Burial to follow at Kapa‘a Public Cemetery.

Stanley “Stan” Quon Chong of Hanalei died June 19, 2009, at Queen’s Medical Center at age 88. Born in Hanalei, he was a retired lead mechanic for Qantas Airlines.
He is survived by his wife Lilly Ho of Kaua‘i; sons Russell (Audrey) Ho of Honolulu; Stanton (JoAnne) Ho of Las Vegas; daughter Valerie Ho of Kaua‘i; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters Sarah Nunes of Kaua‘i, Florence Ching of Kaua‘i, Pearl Canefield of California and Joyce Fountain of Kaua‘i. Services are private.

Annie Gomes Blume of Wailua Riverlots died June 17, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 79. Born on July 11, 1929, in Honolulu, she retired as an office clerk at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her son Timothy (Irene) Blume and daughter Laura (Andrew) Higa, both of Wailua Homesteads; sisters Frances (Jules) Martin of Los Angeles, Sophie Liebold of Pennsylvania; brothers Herbert (Barbara) Gomes and Philip (Mary) Gomes, both of O‘ahu; and three grandchildren.
Visitation at 4 p.m., service at 5 p.m., Sunday, July 26, at Lihu‘e Missionary Church on Rice Street. Private burial services were done at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire suggested; flowers are omitted.

Sergio Alcon Sr.
Sergio P. Alcon Sr. of ‘Ele‘ele died July 11, 2009, in his home at age 82. Born on Oct. 15, 1925, in Ilocos, Philippines, he was an irrigator with McBryde.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Rizal Damo and Catalino Alcon and sister Magdelena Damo.
He is survived by his wife Marilina Alcon; son Sergio Alcon Jr. of ‘Ele‘ele; daughters Sherlyn Alcon of ‘Ele‘ele and Leslie (Ricardo) Flores of Fort Hood, Texas; one grandchild; brother Alfredo Alcon of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing from 9-11 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 25, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Jose Agbayani Villa of Hanama‘ulu died July 16, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 85. Born April 2, 1924, in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired laborer with Lihu‘e Plantation.
He is survived by his wife Ramona Villa; daughters Lorenza Salud of Hanama‘ulu, Eliza (Miles) Koide of Puhi and Joselyn (Scott) Collins of Hanama‘ulu; grandchildren Sylvia (Scott) Rayno, Anne (Scott) Maichel, Arlene (Roger) Hyde, Janice (Jeffrey) Doty, Shaun Koide and Sara Koide; great-grandchildren Samantha Doty, Chase Doty, Kaitlyn Doty, Madison Rayno, Luke Rayno and Dakota Maichel; brother Gabriel Vila of Philippines; sisters Josefa Calimbas of Philippines, Conchita Rabago of Kalihi, Hawai‘i; Rosita Vila of Philippines and Rosalina Dancel of Philippines.
Services will be Monday, July 27, at Lihu‘e Baptist Church; viewing starts at 9 a.m., service at 10 a.m. and burial at 11 a.m. at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
