The issue of Vanity Fair magazine featuring a photo shoot of 12 on-the-rise female surfers is currently available for purchase on newsstands.
Kaua‘i is represented extremely well among the select group as Alana Blanchard, Lelia Hurst and Malia Manuel — all Kaua‘i residents — were chosen to be featured.
The coverage, entitled “Tubular Girls,” spotlights the new face of female surfing and includes riders from age 14 to 26.
“This generation of girls got better so fast, they’re already catching up to the older surfers,” said Blanchard, who is labeled by the magazine as “the face of Rip Curl.”
To view the enitre photo collection, which includes interviews with the group, pick up the current issue of Vanity Fair or visit www.vanityfair.com for a full Web site slide show.
Also exclusive to the Web site is video of the photo shoot and outtakes from the session.
