Amelia ‘Emily’ Silva Rapozo
Emily Rapozo of Kapa‘a died on June 6, 2009 in her home at age 86. Born on Jan. 17, 1923, in Kealia, she retired as the head custodian with Kapa‘a Elementary and Kapa‘a High School.
She was preceded in death by husband Frank S. Rapozo Jr.; parents Frank and Isabella Silva, brothers Manuel DeSilva and Frank Silva; sisters Mary Rocha, Tina Garcia, Georgina Carvalho, Bella Garcia and Josephine Chansky.
She is survived by sons Stephen (Joann) Rapozo of Kapa‘a and Mervin (Fay) Rapozo of Wailua Homesteads, daughters Madeline (Dennis) Yamaguchi of Kalaheo and Doreen Rita of Kapa‘a, brother Alfred Silva of Kapa‘a, sister Virginia Rosa of Kapa‘a, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 8:15-9:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Mass celebrated at 10 a.m., burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Rapozo family with the arrangements.
Paul Nishimoto
Paul K. Nishimoto of Wailua died on June 12, 2009 in his home at age 63. Born on Nov. 22, 1945 in Lihu‘e, he was a Parks and Recreation supervisor with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by brothers Ralph (Payow) Nishimoto of Kapa‘a and Glenn Nishimoto of Phoenix, Ariz., nephews Shane Nishimoto of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Ken Nishimoto of Virginia Beach, Va. and godson Joshua Oganeku of Kapa‘a.
Visitation from 9-10 a.m., service from 10-11 a.m. with lunch to follow, on June 20, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion.
Casual attire suggested; flowers are accepted.

Harry Larsen
Harry John Larsen of Lihu‘e died on June 9, 2009 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 90. Born on July 17, 1918 in Norway, he was a commercial fisherman in the wildlife industry.
He was preceded in death by parents Henrick and Aida Larsen; son Skip Larsen; sisters Lily Bue, Nilda Anderson, Radin Larsen and brother Ture Larsen.
He is survived by daughter Judy (Roger) Peckenpaugh, sons Butch Larsen and Grant Gribble, grandchildren Heather (Adam) Phelps and Dylan Peckenpaugh.
Services to be held at a later date.

Jeanne Corbett
Jeanne Claire Corbett of Kapa‘a died on June 5, 2009 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on April 11, 1945 in Manchester, N.H., she was an accomplished Lauhala weaver.
She was preceded in death by parents George (Bob) and Louise Beauparlant.
She is survived by husband John; daughter Jesse; son Joseph; brother Arthur (Bill) and Donna Beauparlant; nieces Lynn, Ann, Carol, Christine; nephews James and Peter, and numerous other family members and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church at 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 20.
Ruford Nacino
Ruford V. Nacino of Kalaheo died on June 5, 2009 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 42. Born on May 13, 1967 in Waimea, he was a deckhand with P & M Marine Services.
He was preceded in death by father Ruperto Nacino.
He is survived by mother Juliana Nacino; sisters Juliet Nacino of Kailua, Kona, Janet Nacino of Portland, Ore., Joan Nacino (Ken Pollet) of Honolulu; nephew Chandler Nacino and niece Reina Nacino.
Visitation from 9-11 a.m., mass at 11 a.m., on June 20, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Reception/fellowship to follow from 12-2 p.m. Casual attire suggested.

Jovencio Lopez Jr.
Jovencio Lopez Jr. of Kapa‘a died on May 28, 2009 at Straub Hospital at age 47. He was born on May 30, 1961 in Candon City, Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his father Jovencio Lopez Sr.
He is survived by his mother Anastacia Lopez; sisters Lilita Viernes of the Philippines, Lilian (Samson) Lozano of the Philippines, Luisita (Larry) Imperial of the Philippines, Lalaine (Juanito) Rabaino of Wailua; brothers Dominador Lopez of Kapa‘a and Geoffrey (Stacy) Lopez of Wailua; numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing from 6-9 p.m., June 26, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Visitation at 8 a.m., mass at 10 a.m., June 27, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.

Lillian Iida
Lillian Yuriko Iida of Lihu‘e, died on June 5, 2009 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 86. Born on July 13, 1922 in Kapaia, she was a retired sales representative for the Avon Corp.
She was preceded in death by husband Michael Iida, father Frank Hirota, mother Alexandra Medeiros Hirota, brother Alec Hirota.
She is survived by daughters Lola (Sam) Bukoski and Cheryl (Mike) Sasaki, son Steve (Niki) Iida, sisters Eleanor (John) Stein and Jane (Casey) Look, brother Paul (Joyce) Hirota, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation at 8:30 a.m., mass at 10 a.m., June 20, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lihu‘e.
Scattering of ashes will be private at a later date.
Anthony Torio
Anthony Torio of Kilauea, died on June 5, 2009 at Straub Hospital at age 52.
He was a dedicated worker for 30 years at Kilauea Agronomics (Guava Kai).
He was preceded in death by father Nicomedes E. Torio Sr., mother Maggie K. Torio and brother Nicomedes E. Torio Jr.
He is survived by brothers James (Marie) Torio Sr. of Anahola, Soloman (Joan) Torio of Anahola, Thomas Torio of Kilauea; sister Lynette M. Viluan of Kilauea; eight nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews; many uncles, aunties, cousins and friends.
A memorial will be held in honor of his life at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 27, at Anini Beach Park.
