Described by KONG radio listeners as ‘The Recycle Warrior,’ ‘Electronic Consumer God’ and ‘Omega Man,’ the eight-foot sculpture that appeared Monday morning at the center of the Kapa‘a round-about is presently in the custody of the Kaua‘i Police Department. One fan of the ‘warrior’ followed Public Works to the Kapa‘a base yard asking to rescue the piece from potential destruction. After a series of phone calls, the anonymous citizen spoke with Capt. Ale Quibilan, officer on the scene Monday, who told her the ‘warrior’ could not be released until KPD found a way to document the incident. This modern day mythological character is stranded mid-stride until further notice.
