LIHU‘E — The interior roadway fronting the Historic County Building was closed Friday and will remain closed until Monday due to setting up of the mobile stage and preparations for the Visitor Industry Charity Walk, according to a press release.
Anyone stopping by the Historic County Building on those days can use designated parking spaces along nearby streets and at the Lihu‘e Civic Center.
The 14-by-36-foot hydraulically actuated stage is made of steel, and can be set up in less than an hour, substantially less time and manpower than what’s required to set up the county’s wooden stages.
Other features include two stairways with handrails, a hydraulic lift at the back of the stage, acoustical panels, and a rugged, all weather construction.
The mobile stage was recently purchased for use during major county events, including those that are part of the Kaua‘i Festivals Program.
