In celebration of Earth Day community members will devote a day of care to Lydgate Park. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the main pavilion. The Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park will serve refreshments, drinking water and lunch to volunteers.
The scope of work includes painting the Kamalani Kai Bridge (Play Bridge) and litter patrol. Grubby gardening clothes are recommended for the volunteers. Volunteers are asked to bring the following: Work gloves, six to eight foot ladders; personal water bottles; sun protection and grubby shoes.
At 7:55 there will be a blessing of the future site of the Peace Pole, a project of the Interfaith Roundtable of Kaua‘i. For more information call Annaleah Atkinson, 652-7743.
