Mark Ozaki of the Kaua‘i Police Activities League opened up the flag football registration while the county’s 11 and Under basketball game was underway, Monday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Mark and Kaua‘i Police Chief Darryl Perry will be making the journey to Kilauea Saturday when K-PAL opens the North Shore Basketball League in earnest — 21 games on tap!
John Kaneholani has one of the older teams that played in the Easter Egg Saturday games and had to balance getting the Hanalei School Ukulele Band to the Roy Sakuma Ukulele Festival and back to Kilauea for the hoops.
And if you’re up there, make sure you say “hi” to Bill Troutman (he’ll be doing pancakes, Sunday at the North Shore Lions pancake breakfast) and Brandi Tacbian.
Hats off to Bill Arakaki, Lyle Tabata and all the Scouting leaders on a great Makahiki. Someone was looking for the Garden Fair, but Melissa McFerrin said that event comes up Saturday at Kaua‘i Community College, and the Hanalei Taro and Juice Co lunchwagon comes all the way over the bridge.
