Stanley Alexander Staulz III of Kapa‘a netted his 50th hole-in-one last month in Wailua.
Staulz used a Taylor Made 3 Iron to ace the Wailua Golf Course 17th hole (173 yards) during the Wednesday Golf Club’s weekly tournament, Feb. 9.
“This is Staulz’s 50th Hole in One, the first on a regulation golf course,” said Susan Honjiyo, the Wailua GC Operations Assistant, in an e-mail.
In 2002, Staulz averaged a hole-in-one every three weeks on an executive par-3 golf course, and in 2004, starting on Feb. 28 and ending on March 28, Staulz nailed an ace every three days on an executive par-3 course.
His 48th ace came at Presidio Hills golf course and his 49th Hole in One was at Governor Drive Golf Course.
Later in the month, Larry Blow of Kapa‘a aced the Wailua Golf Course’s No. 17 using his Cobra 4 Iron. This was Blow’s first ace in the 50 years he has been golfing, Honjiyo said.
Staulz has been golfing for 32 years and aced the Wailua No. 17 on the fly.
“I’m probably the luckiest golfer in the whole wide world,” Staulz said.
