Moanalua’s Tadd Fujikawa opened Round 3 of the Honda Classic with a birdie on the par-4 No. 1, followed that with a bogey on the par-4 and got back to minus one on the par-5 No. 3.
Fujikawa then parred next six consecutive holes to make the turn at 1-under 34. Things went south for Fujikawa on the back nine. After parring Nos. 10 and 11, he bogeyed No. 12, 15, 16 and 18 to head into the clubhouse at 3-over 73 for the day.
He is now 5 over for the tournament and fell down in the ranks to sit tied in 49th place with Australia’s Tim Wilkinson and the United States’ Chris Demarco.
Fujikawa is 10 shots behind tournament leader Y.E. Yang of South Korea. Yang shot even par for the day and is 7-under 203 for the tournament.
A shot back from him are Jeff Klauk and Jeff Overton at 6-under 204.
