LIHU‘E — The average price per gallon of gas remains at an average of about $2.55 to $2.56 across the island, with Costco still the champion of low prices at $2.42 and Princeville Chevron continuing to tip the chart at $2.79.
According to AAA Hawai‘i, gas prices mostly remained the same at an average of $2.45 a gallon statewide, with Honolulu at $2.38, Hilo at $2.54 and Wailuku at $2.60.
“This week of mostly small price declines broke the three weeks of price increases, while mainland prices which have continued to zigzag — up one day and down the next,” said AAA Hawai‘i Regional Manager Richard Velazquez in a written statement. “AAA Hawai‘i advises motorists to shop for the best fuel price possible without driving too much out of your way.”
