Josephine “Josie” Chansky of Kapahi died Feb. 3, 2009, at home at age 83.
Born Sept. 7, 1925, in Kealia, she retired as a bank teller with First Hawaiian Bank.
She is survived by brother Alfred Silva; sisters Emily Rapozo and Virginia Rosa, all of Kapa‘a; nephew and caregiver Manuel “Macky” (Sheila) DeSilva of Kapa‘a; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be from 8 to 10:45 a.m. during a celebration of her life on Thursday, Feb. 12, at St. Catherine’s Church; mass will be at 11 a.m.
Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Chansky family with arrangements.
Angel Agor Manuel Sr. of Lahaina, Maui, died Feb. 6, 2009, at his residence at age 95.
Born Oct. 1, 1913, in Sarat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired laborer from Pioneer Mill Company.
He is survived by wife Iluminada Manuel of Lahaina, Maui; sons Willy (Naida) Manuel, Angel Manuel Jr. and Larry Manuel, all of Lahaina; brother Valentin Manuel of the Philippines; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, at Borthwick Norman’s Mortuary; service at 7 p.m. Funeral visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, at Maria Lanakila Church; mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.
Borthwick Norman’s Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements.
