And then, he joined Brad Snyder to host the Ace Hardware Golf Shootout at Kaua‘i Lagoons, Wednesday morning. Brooke Johnson had her Wilcox Memorial Hospital crew out doing security (no ‘Quiet’ paddles?) and mahalo to Aubrey Hawk and Stacey Acma for making sure all the info was correct.
Doug Sears of the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i had his crop of 20 students from the Chiefess Kamakahelei and Waimea Canyon middle schools on property, Thursday, and Aimee Lorenzo (is she related to Uncle Juan?) did a fine job getting everybody squared away.
It looks like we’re on a roll with career-oriented events since Leila Kuboyama said Waimea High School has its Health and Career Day coming up and Kathy Morishige of the Kaua‘i High School AOHT has to check on when Kaua‘i’s one is.
Hats off to Kaipo Kealalio and the Island School people who got to celebrate the gym’s new bleachers with a home game, Wednesday night. Chef Guy Higa does a good job as a coach as well and Clarence Sales was on the floor.
More basketball is on tap when coach Peter Rayno’s Hau‘ila takes on coach Phil Baclayon’s Hanakila in one of the opening games of the 13 Under league, Monday, and don’t forget to visit coach Jimmy Yagi this morning at the Kaua‘i High School gym.
