The forum is for native education and community renewal at the Kanuikapono PCS campus from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at 4109 Kealia Road in Anahola. The general public is invited — parents, students, families, anyone interested in supporting the contributions charter schools make to providing an innovative educational experience. Movie, ‘There is a Way’
Waimea Theatre
Featuring teenagers from across the island, this debut will be at an upcoming town hall meeting sponsored by the county’s Anti-Drug office and the Hawai‘i Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking.
The town hall meeting is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Free hot-dogs, popcorn and soda will be given to the first 100 participants.
The focus of the meeting will be to raise awareness about recent research that points to the detrimental effects of underage drinking.
Presentations will be made by Acting Captain Mark Scribner and Sgt. Kenneth Carvalho with the Kaua‘i Police Department and Kekai Seabury with Mothers against Drunk Driving, Kaua‘i Division.
Exhibits will be set up by various alcohol and drug prevention agencies and handouts will be available. Town hall meetings are being held across the country to alert and empower communities and to support the goals outlined in the Surgeon General’s Call to Action to Prevent and Reduce Underage Drinking. Many of us know the magic of a library; but this time it really is magic at Lihu‘e Library. At 7 p.m. Wednesday see “The Best Magician in the World,” Timothy Wenk. For all ages but especially ages 4 to 10 years-old. An inventor of magic tricks, the award-winning Timothy Wenk has performed in Europe, Japan, and all across the United States. He even performed at the White House five years in a row. The show will provide plenty of laughter, good times and audience participation. The library’s latest program for teens. Students ages 13 to 18 are invited to enter until Feb. 13. East Side Family Summit

Organizations who offer family-strengthening programs are encouraged to sign up for an information booth at the 6th Annual East Kaua‘i Family Summit: Celebrating Kaua‘i’s Families.
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Kapa‘a High School courtyard. Participating organizations will be provided with a tent, table, electricity, Internet access if needed, as well as lunch.
