Matt Meola and Dylan Goodale finished one, two respectively in their Round 3 heats yesterday in the Sebastian Inlet Pro, in Florida.
Surfing in the stormy, 3- to 4-foot waves, Meola, whom Goodale beat in Round 2, won his with a score of 10.50 over California’s Gabe Garcia (9.23), Koloa’s Kyle Ramey (8.10) and Kyle Knox (7.50) of North Carolina.
Kaua‘i’s Goodale finished second in his heat with a score of 11.00.
Both Meola and Goodale advanced to the next round.
The Sebastian Inlet Pro is the first event of the Association of Surfing Professionals World Qualifying Series. The top 15 finishers at the end of the qualifying series earn spots on the professional’s Dream Tour.
