Robert Goodwin
Robert H. Goodwin of Anahola died Jan. 6, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 82. Born Dec. 4, 1926, in Waimea, he was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by wife Barbara Goodwin; sons Robert Goodwin Jr., William Goodwin and Tracy Goodwin; stepdaughters Darlene Pa, Sandra Kaina and Clarenza Brown; stepson Eugene Kaina Jr.; sisters Margaret Akana, Aletha Kaohi and Elizabeth Gulstan Silva; half-brother Eddie Taniguchi of Anahola; 59 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Jan. 24, at Anahola Beach.

Troy Crawford
Troy Paul Crawford of Kapa‘a died Jan. 1, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 40. Born Sept. 18, 1968, in San Jose, Calif., he was the owner of Pearls Perles Purles.
He is survived by parents John and Pamela Crawford, brother Todd (Marnie) Crawford, and two nieces.
Friends may visit with the family beginning at noon, Jan. 18, at The Calvary Chapel in Kapa‘a (Kapa‘a bypass road); services begin at 1 p.m.

Edward Threet
Edward Lee Threet of Koloa died Jan. 4, 2009, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 75. Born June 7, 1933, in Prattsville, Ark., he was an electronic technician.
He was preceded in death by father Albert Threet and mother Essie Mae Ashcraft.
He is survived by brother James Threet of Arkansas.
A farewell get-together was Jan. 11, at Koloa Missionary Church.
Matsukichi Kobashigawa
Matsukichi “Jack” Kobashigawa of Kekaha died Jan. 12, 2009, at home at age 93. Born March 14, 1915, in Kekaha, he retired as a mechanic with Kekaha Sugar Company.
He is survived by wife Lois Kobashigawa, son Wayne (Colleen) Kobashigawa, daughters Marcia (Brian) Yamada and Margie Fukui, brothers Mutt Kobashigawa and Shige Kobashigawa; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m., Jan. 17, and services will follow at Waimea Hongwanji.

Mary-Jo Wilson
Mary-Jo Wilson died Jan. 5, 2009, in Blythe, Calif., at age 87. Born May 7, 1921, in Arkansas, she was the former owner of Koke‘e Lodge.
She was preceded in death by husband William-Penn “Bill” Wilson.
She is survived by daughter Joann Wilson Morrison and grandchildren Georgia, Tina, Vicky and Corrina of Blythe, Calif.; son Jack (Glenda) Wilson and grandchildren Candy and Chris of Blythe, Calif.; son John “Pancho” (Elly) Wilson; stepson Bart, Elvira, Giselle and Ian Petterson of Sequim, Wash.; Mary-Jo’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren from John “Pancho” Wilson (Amore Camara) are Randall Ioane (Bobbie) Wilson and their children Rancee, Kaimana, Lanakila, Lilinoe Wilson of Lihu‘e; daughter Xann Maile (Mike) Kuenzil and their children Kainoa and Kaimi Kuenzil of Battleground, Wash.; son John Kawika Wilson of Hanapepe and his children Saraiah and Kawika Wilson of Texas; daughter Cherie-Amore Wilson and her children Alana and Ho‘onanea Griep-Wilson of Hanapepe; son David Kealii (Maile) Wilson and their children Isaiah and Hi‘ilani Wilson of Hanapepe.
A celebration of her life will be held in her hometown of Blythe, Calif. The date is yet to be determined and services will be private.

Joseph Pavao
Joseph Ignacio Pavao of Waimea died Dec. 26, 2008, at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, Calif., at age 94. Born Feb. 17, 1914, in Makaweli, he was retired from Waimea Meadow Gold Dairies.
He was preceded in death by parents Manuel Ignacio Pavao and Mary Duarte Pavao; brothers Manuel Pavao, Frank Ignacio of Kekaha, Paul Pavao, John Ignacio Pavao of Hanapepe; sisters Mary Ventura of Kalaheo, Margaret Freidlander, Madeline Black; and great-grandson Darius Yasay.
He is survived by daughters Sylvia Joyce (Tom) Thomason of Waimea, Janice Pavao Belen of San Francisco, Calif.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister Beatrice Medeiros of Santa Clara, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Jan. 15, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Waimea.
Teresa Thompson
Teresa Michelle Dawson Thompson of Kalaheo died Jan. 11, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 42. She was born Oct. 9, 1966, in Kailua, Hawai‘i.
She is survived by daughters Danika Jae‘lene Thompson and Kierra Raiko Thompson, both of Kalaheo; parents Jim and Verlene Dawson of Kalaheo; brother Randall S. Dawson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandmother Ruby Caldwell of Sacramento, Calif.; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Jan. 16, at Kalaheo Missionary Church; service begins at 3 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers should be omitted.

Elizabeth “Cubby” Jane Kamala of Kapa‘a died Dec. 20, 2008, at her residence in Kapa‘a at the age of 55. Born in California, she was a retired nurse at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by sister Beverly Simpson and brother William Hobart Simpson Jr.
She is survived by parents William Hobart and Billie Jeanne Simpson, daughter Ursula (David) Torres, son James Langtad and sister Bonnie (Will) Berndt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and hanai family.
A celebration of life will be at noon, Jan. 18, at ‘Anini Beach.
