KMSA soccer tomorrow
Two games are on tap tomorrow night at Vidinha Stadium as the Kaua‘i Mens Soccer Association resumes action following a “winter break.”
At 6 p.m., Canefire will tangle with Hanalei followed by Kryptonite taking on the Afterburners starting at 8 p.m.
There is no admission fee to view the competition.
Namolokama Canoe Club to hold registration
The Namolokama Canoe Club will be holding its 2009 registration starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Namolokama Canoe Club site, located next to Black Pot Beach (take Weke Road down to the boat ramp/on the right hand side).
Registration will be for adults only, and there will be a family rate.
The canoe club will consist of competitive as well as recreational paddling and a youth program.
Practice for women and men will begin in early February. Registration for the youth program will be announced at a later date, and its practices will begin in April.
Lihu‘e Pop Warner looking for coaches
Lihue Pop Warner Association is looking for head coaches for football and cheer for their 2009 season for the Jr. Pee Wee, Jr. Midget, and Midget divisions.

Registration for youth basketball set for next week
The Department of Parks and Recreation announced that registration for the community youth basketball leagues is scheduled for Jan. 12 to 14.
Boys and girls, ages 12 and 13, are eligible to participate in the program.
Registration will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following neighborhood centers: Kalaheo, Kapa‘a, Kilauea, Lihu‘e and Waimea.
The cost for each participant is $30.
The tentative start date for the basketball leagues is Feb. 9.
