The bodies of two men who were found at the bottom of a pair of Kaua‘i waterfalls in the span of approximately 48 hours last week have been identified by county officials after autopsies were performed yesterday morning and next of kin was notified.
The man found at the bottom of Wailua Falls by a visitor on Thursday afternoon has been identified as 40-year-old Troy Paul Crawford of Kapa‘a.
The man discovered last Tuesday at the bottom of ‘Anini Stream, also by a visitor, has been identified as 25-year-old Clayton Carlson of San Luis Obispo, Calif.
A visitor discovered his body after walking down a trail at the end of Wyllie Road in Princeville at around 9:30 a.m., according to county officials. When the visitor stopped to look at several small waterfalls along the trail, he found a man lying motionless beneath a 10-foot waterfall, a county press release said.
The two events are reportedly unrelated and no foul play is suspected, according to officials.
