HONOLULU — The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warrior basketball team returns to the court following an eight-day break, when it hosts UC Riverside on Tuesday.
Tip-off is 7:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
It will be the second all-time meeting between the teams as the Highlanders defeated the Rainbow Warriors, 79-62, last February in Riverside as part of the ESPNU BracketBusters event.
The game on Tuesday night will be the return game as the ‘Bows look to avenge one its worst losses of the 2007-08 campaign.
Hawai‘i (5-3) is on a roll at home, building a five-game win streak within the friendly confines of the Stan Sheriff Center. Hawai‘i has won its last two games by double-digits with solid efforts on offense and defense, scoring a season-high 85 points in a win over Chicago State and allowing a season-low 55 points against Eastern Washington.
UC Riverside is riding some momentum of its own, winning its last three games to improve to 7-2, its best start since joining Division I basketball.
Following its meeting with the Highlanders, Hawai‘i will host the 45th Annual Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic, Saturday through Dec. 30.
