This week marked the final stretch for high school prep football and the final regular season game for the bowl-bound University of Hawai‘i Warriors.
This then means that it is also the end of our Football Frenzy and your final chance to beat us. Felipe Bigno of ‘Ele‘ele was a winner for the second time this season, successfully going 11-for-13 after Monday’s game. His only two mishaps were the Jacksonville/Houston and Atlanta/San Diego games.
Kauaiworld.com Web master Richard Stein was at the top of the media panelists for the week at 10-3, 88-67. He is now tied with KQNG radio personality Ron Wiley for total wins and losses.
Wiley and I went 9-4, but I have already clinched the victory for this Frenzy. With my win/loss record being 94-61, both of them would have to win seven more games than me to win. Since Stein and I have basically the same picks except for the Washington/Baltimore game, and the game differential against Wiley is three, they really don’t have a mathematical chance.
I should treat myself out to something.
Joining for the final Frenzy is Nelson Lopes of Lihu‘e whose wife, Lana, was a panelist earlier this season. Both are frequent players.
Be sure to have all final ballots in by 5 p.m., today.
