Joshua Webber of Lihu‘e and Audrey Valenciano of Lawa‘i were the overall winners in the 10K run in the Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run held Saturday as a fundraiser for the Kaua‘i Community College’s nursing and other programs.
Webber clocked in with a time of :44:49 and Valenciano finished in :55:26.
The run, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kaua‘i, featured 243 participants ranging in age from 14 to over 50 years old and coming from all over Hawai‘i, California, Alaska, Utah, Washington and Florida.
Chris Wingerberg of Koloa (1:07:10) and Peggy Compton of Encinitas, Calif. (1:14:01) were the winners for the 10 Mile run.
Pierce Murphy of Hanalei (:17:12) and Sundey Dillberg of Koloa (:21:19) won the 5K.
All proceeds from the event will go toward local scholarships for the KCC nursing and technical programs and the Rotary Youth Leadership Award.
The final amount raised from Saturday has not yet been tallied.
