That game in the Under 10 division of the Kaua‘i Soccer Association fall league was one of a dozen games penned in on the league’s schedules.
The Kaua‘i Sparks’ win keeps the redshirts in the lead of the GU10 division with a 5-2 record and 15 points following seven completed games.
It also drops the Lightning Chix to 0-8 and seeking its break into the winner’s circle.
The KSC-Blazing Angels eked out a 4-2 win over the Southside Lunachicks to finish in a 2-5 standing and 6 points for a tie for second place in the standings race of the GU10 division.
Team Motiv-8 edged Pohaku BU10, 2-1 to improve to 5-2 and 15 points in the Boys Under 10 division. The Sunday results drop Pohaku to 4-3 and a dozen points on the season. Westside Falcons BU10, drawing a bye over the weekend, lead that division with an undefeated 7-0 record and 21 points.
Jordan Taboniar netted two goals in the KSC-Blazing Angels’ 2-0 win over the Westside Falcons BU12-2 matchup.
The win keeps the Angels at the top of the Girls Under 12 division with a 6-1 record and 18 points, and despite the loss, the Westside Falcons BU12-2 team holds a 2-point lead in the Boys Under 12 division with a 3-3-2 record and 11 points. The Falcons’ BU12-1 team, drawing a bye over the weekend, is 2-2-3 with 9 points.
Hawaiian Heat, a 3-1 winner over Lokahi, is in second place in the Girls Under 12 division with a 3-3-1 record and 10 points, while Lokahi, the sole team in the Girls Under 11 division, is still seeking its girls season win at 0-5-2 and 2 points.
Team Onipa‘a, a 1-0 winner by forfeit over the Hawaiian Heat GU14, improves to 4-4 and a dozen points, second to the GIFC, drawing a bye this weekend, who leads that division with a 7-0 record and 21 points. The Westside Falcons BU14, taking a 7-2 loss from Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i, round out the division with a 2-6 record and 6 points.
Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i continues to lead the Girls Under 14 division, improving to an 8-1 record and 24 points followed by Pohaku GU14, taking a cancellation against GIFC BU14, holding a 2-3 record and 6 points. Hawaiian Heat GU14 is 0-9 on the season.
Team Motiv-8 BU16 took a 9-1 win over Lokahi to lead the Boys Under 16 division with a 9-1 record and 27 points while Lokahi is 0-9 on the season despite strong play.
Westside United, an 8-5 winner over Lokahi, is 5-4-1 in the Boys Under 15 division.
The championship for the Under 16 and Under 18 divisions will take place during this Sunday’s matches.
The first round opens at 11:30 a.m. with a second game following at 1:30 p.m. at the North Vidinha fields.
Regular season games continue to the Under 10 through Under 14 division with the first contests starting at 11:30 a.m. featuring the Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i taking on Team Onipa‘a.
