Happy Camper for Saturday, October 25, 2008

James Yamamoto was equipped with his video gear for the Science Day at Sea, but was missing the writing of Rachel Gehren.

Hats off to Jean Souza and all the Kaua‘i volunteers for making the event a success. Angela Lopez is now a teacher at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and had her class on hand for the Thursday tour.

Chef Martina Hilldorfer’s centerpiece for the Agriculture and Food Industry Tour at the Kaua‘i Community College was the centerpiece for the KCC Business Education exhibit during the Taste of College event, Tuesday night.

Hats off to Rhonda Liu for pulling together another good event at the college. Billy Gibson said fine dining is winding down. They have about six weeks remaining and will enter the ethnic themes starting with Japanese next week.

Dennis Chun will have the students working the imu as the finale that will feature Hawaiian. That comes right around the time the imu service for Thanksgiving rolls around.

Ross Shimabukuro said Wednesday night’s KIF championship volleyball playoff was the biggest crowd for an event this year. Congratulations to both coaches Chad Delanoza and Corey Morishita for doing a great job with the teams … it takes two teams to have a great game, and the audience was definitely not disappointed. Congratulations to Coach Corey on earning the KIF title, but kudos to Coach Chad and his girls on a great effort as well.

OK, time to attack the busy Saturday schedule … drive carefully.
