Stein pulls the upset

Matt Ryan completed a 26-yard pass to Michael Jenkins with one second left of the game to set up the game-winning field goal for Jason Elam.

St. Louis also comes up with a field goal with two seconds left to beat Washington.

Detroit was oh so close to getting its first win. (You’re still doing a good job, Jordon Dizon!)

Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning throws three in the Giants’ loss to Cleveland on Monday night, and even TGI’s Richard Stein can cough up an upset.

He successfully beat me and Ron Wiley last week, finished 8-5 and improving to 32-33. But he still has a way to go if he wants to beat me in the end. I finished a record-low 5-8 last week dropping to 36-29.

Lucky for me though, as Wiley also had a bad week. He finished 4-9 and is now 34-31.

After seeing all those games on Sunday come down to the final minutes and seeing the New York football Giants get trampled over by Cleveland, how can I not be bummed?

Hopefully, my picks this week will come through for me. I’m the only one to choose Hawai‘i, so we’ll see, I suppose. The Broncos are 31-point favorites and it is on their home, blue course, but you can never underestimate Hawai‘i. People should know that by now.

We welcome Malia Napoleon of Kapa‘a to the panel this week and congratulate Pedro Tagatoc as the weekly winner. Tagatoc is no stranger to the Frenzy.

A multiple-winner from last year’s inaugural Frenzy, he’s our first double-winner for the season. He was a panelist just two weeks ago.
