Playoffs for the American Youth Soccer Organization, Region 940 start Tuesday, said Conchetta Ijima, team mom for the league.
Conchetta said playoffs will take place for the Under 12 and Under 14 divisions with the leaders advancing to the Wil Veeck soccer tournament which starts Nov. 3 at Vidinha Stadium.
The Kaua‘i Stingers, an Under 12 girls team coached by Ijima, finished its season with an undefeated record after wrapping up a 5-0 win over the Kaua‘i Gurlz, Saturday at the North Vidinha soccer fields.
Pili Chung netted a hat trick, or three goals, and Sariah Ijima helped with two goals in that win.
The Kaua‘i Stingers travel to Waimea for its first game in the playoffs Tuesday while the Kaua‘i Gurlz, coached by Paul Curtis, meet a Koloa team at the North Vidinha fields.
Conchetta said the other playoff game taking place at the North Vidinha fields will be teams coached by Cabreira and Zablan.
More playoff games are scheduled for Thursday, but the locations of those games will hinge on the outcome of the Tuesday games, she said.
