Happy Camper

Diana Oyakawa said she can sleep now that the Lihu‘e Christian Church bazaar is over. Hats off to all the people who worked hard to make it a success.

Yoshie Shirai said she gets people telling her about Happy Camper exploits from all over, including the Mainland, and Tom Shigemoto was going crazy taking care of all the cashiers.

Speaking of Tom, Mel Rapozo said he and A&B Hawai‘i were instrumental in getting the Kree Unit drum here so they could spread their anti-drug message to some of our island’s youth.

Karin Panui (she said she made about 50 bags for the sale) was standing in line and is already excited about her new item for this Christmas that Edwin Vea will be hawking alongside the potato bag.

Karin said it will be unveiled at the Kaua‘i Handworks craft fair the Saturday following Thanksgiving at the Elsie Wilcox Elementary School cafeteria (Vicky Ramos is probably going crazy getting ready for this one, too).

Melani Nagao and Lauren Brennan were both there checking out the quilts and JoAnn Yukimura was a little late for the Thomas Noyes walk along the future bike/pedestrian path because she had to check out the items.

Hats off to Dr. Becky Rhoades and all the Kaua‘i Humane Society people who hosted their second Love A Dog Day event. Ron Wiley was having a blast having the canine athletes go through the Fastest Dog and Jumpers events, and you have to check out Cathy Shanks’ line of foods for both dogs and cats.
