Big Tent KukaKuka has announced that it is hosting a “GreenForAll” event today at Grove Farm Park in Puhi as part of the nationwide Green Jobs Now National Day of Action.
The National Day of Action brings together diverse groups and individuals to urge our government to make an even greater investment in green jobs and clean energy, according to the project’s Web site.
A press release from the KukaKuka said that the group was extending an “open invitation for community members and business, labor, workforce development, and government leaders to help create a ‘green agenda’ that positively impacts community health, enhances public infrastructure and increases opportunities for future generations.”
The event, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., will include a farmer’s market and swap meet, a showcase for green products and services, a meet and greet with local candidates, a general election candidate forum, food, refreshments, activities for children and live music.
Panel speakers will include Glenn Hontz of Kaua‘i Community College’s Office of Continuing Education and Training, Ben Sullivan of Apollo Kaua‘i, Keone Kealoha of Malama Kaua‘i, Beth Tokioka of the Office of Economic Development, and state Sen. Gary Hooser.
