Kelli Oride is one of three golfers who will be defending her title starting today in the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association’s second annual Match Play Championship at the Ka‘anapali Royal Course on Maui.
The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation girls golf champion will be competing in the Girls 13 to 18 division. The first match begins at 6:33 a.m. and the afternoon matches will start at 1:18 p.m.
The top eight boys in the 15 to 18, 13 to 14 and 11 to 12 year old divisions will crown a champions. The top 16 girls in the 13 to 18 and eight in the girls 11 to 12 division will be crowned champions.
The field is invited from the top point list as of July 9. Currently, Oride is ranked ninth on the points list. Most recently competed in the HSJG Mixed Team tournament with her older brother, Cory, and played in the second annual Mayor’s Challenge Cup.
