Charles Joseph Jacinth of Penryn, Calif., died Aug. 13, 2008, in Penryn at the age of 79. Born Aug. 22, 1928, in Honolulu, he was a retired civil servant.
He was preceded in death by wife Mary Jacinth and son Charles Jay Jacinth.
He is survived by children Larry, Lori and Paul Jacinth; and four grandsons.
A celebration of life ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2333 Humphrey Road in Penryn, Calif. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento, Calif. Casual attire is suggested.

Marciel Andrea Ilimalani Polan of Lihu‘e died Aug. 26, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 42. Born March 23, 1966, on O‘ahu, she was a lot attendant for Dollar Rent A Car.
She is survived by parents Joseph M. Polan and Dorothy F. Polan; sister Michele A.U. Ornellas; brother Michael A.K. (Cheryl) Polan; nieces and nephews Sashan A.C. Costa Brum, Shyla M. Costa Brum, Duncan Costa Brum Jr., Nicole Polan, Michael L. Polan Jr. and Natalie Polan; grandnephew Kingsten Castillo; and numerous aunties and uncles.
Memorial services will begin with visitation at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Immaculate Conception Church; Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
