Three recent graduates were the recipients of scholarships worth $750 each from the Koloa Federal Credit Union.
Waimea High School graduated Rheif Ryder Kaena David Callahan, a member of Junior ROTC program, Peer Education Program, practiced martial arts and was active with Kaua‘i Bible Youth Activities.
Callahan plans on attending Kaua‘i Community College to take his liberals before transferring to University of Hawai‘i at Hilo to major in Botany and Biotechnology.
Kaua‘i High School graduate Michaela Mikki Legaspi of ‘Oma‘o was involved in multiple clubs such as the Leo Club, Key Club and National Honor Society. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Easter Seals and the Kaua‘i Food Bank.
Legaspi has aspirations to become a cardiologist and will be attending the University of Oregon this fall.
Koloa’s Sara K. Phillips recently graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama where she was a member of the student council, Student Services and Recycling Club, varsity cross country and the Drug and Alcohol Prevention program.
Phillips will be attending Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif.
