It was a rough round for Kane‘ohe’s Dean Wilson yesterday at the John Deere Classic. Wilson shot a triple bogey on the par-4 sixth hole, just a few holes after his double bogey on the second.
Wilson finished 5-over 76 on the day to drop down the leaderboard, 2-under 211 for the tournament and 13 shots off leaders Eric Axley, Brad Adamonis and Kenny Perry.
Parker McLachlin’s round wasn’t that much better. He had only one birdie — on his first hole of the day, the par-5, 10th — to finish 2-over 73 for the day and 1-under 212 for the tournament. McLachlin had back-to-back bogeys on the seventh and eighth holes, and finished with a par on the ninth.
Wilson will tee off with Glen Day and McLachlin tees off in the second group of the day with Scott McCarron.
On the LPGA tour, Michelle Wie broke even yesterday at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. Wie had three birdies — on the seventh, 12th, 16th — but it wasn’t enough to recover from the double bogey on the fifth and her bogey on the 13th.
She sits at even for the tournament and 18 shots off leader Paula Creamer.
Wie tees off today with In-Kyung Kim and Kyeong Bae.
