The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations will update the governor’s Kaua‘i Community Advisory Council Thursday on initiatives relating to Hawai‘i’s workforce, with a focus on those that directly affect Kaua‘i.
James Hardway, special assistant to the director, will give the presentation at 5 p.m. at the Moikeha Building, meeting rooms 2A/2B, 4444 Rice St. The meeting is open to the public.
Hardway will also talk about how the current economic conditions are impacting the labor force.
The Kaua‘i Community Advisory Council holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise Gov. Linda Lingle of important issues, public priorities and recommendations for state boards and commissions.
The members of the Kaua‘i council are James Anakalea, Stewart Burley, Linda Collins, Vilamor Galiza, James Itamura, Maka‘ala Ka‘aumoana, Barbara Smith, Matt Takata (chair), and Leo Trinidad.
