Minor accident near mall

One person was injured in a two-car collision near Kukui Grove Center yesterday afternoon, according to county spokesperson Mary Daubert.

Daubert said that a Toyota Prius driven by a 66-year-old Lihu‘e woman was traveling northbound on Nawiliwili Road when it collided with a vehicle operated by a 78-year-old Koloa man near the junction with Kukui Grove Street at roughly 12:35 p.m.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to Wilcox Memorial Hospital, where she underwent tests and was to be released, Daubert said.

Neither of her two passengers, nor the other driver or his one passenger were injured.

The Toyota was towed from the scene.

Daubert said that no arrests had been made or citations issued in connection with the incident and that police had concluded their investigation.
