There is just one more round for the Kaua‘i Police Activities League flag football.
K-PAL coordinator Mark Ozaki said the program will enjoy a bye this Saturday because of the Fourth of July weekend. On July 12, the program comes to an end for this year at the North Vidinha fields.
“We’ll start with the awards ceremony before getting into the final round of games,” Ozaki said. “Following that, there will be water slides and inflatables for the kids to play with. And, of course, there’ll be free hot dogs and refreshments.”
Ozaki said the final day will coincide with the Kaua‘i Police Department’s Family Fun Day so the waterslides and other rides will be shared.
During yesterday’s event, K-PAL cheerleader coach Crystal Kaya was busy retrieving shave ice supplies from a new covered trailer that sat adjoining the central information tent where referees and coaches checked in for their respective games.
“The trailer is new,” Ozaki said. “This is the first day anyone has seen it. It was expensive, but we saved here and saved there and finally was able to get one. It makes hauling everything out to the fields a lot easier for everyone.”
