Gilmath Brede
Gilmath L. Brede of Lihu‘e died June 13, 2008, at Straub Hospital at the age of 33. Born Aug. 6, 1974, in Kaua‘i, he was an A.C.O. with Kauai Community Correctional Center.
He was preceded in death by mother Juliette Nani Brede.
He is survived by wife Sheri Brede; daughters Kainani Brede, Gilia Brede, Mikaela Brede and Meilina Brede; father William A. Brede Jr.; sisters Deborah K. (Joseph) Pinero and Julieann N. (Gilbert) Balai; brothers William A. Brede III and Shane R. (Susan) Brede; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at Kapaa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Memorial services will begin at 12 p.m. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Lawrence Redden
Lawrence E. Redden, Captain USN retired, of Hawai‘i passed away on June 8, 2008, at Hale Kapuna Nursing Home in ‘Oma‘o at the age of 86.
Redden served his country for 33 years and was a veteran of three wars. He retired in 1975 from the U.S. Navy in Hawai‘i. He remained on the islands, which he loved, and went on to become a successful businessman. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Honolulu.
He was preceded in death by parents Daniel and Mary, brothers John and Daniel, and sisters Evelyn and Winifred.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Florence “Lynn,”; son John “Kip” (Judy) of Moscow, Idaho; daughters Kelly (Ian Rowley) of Shropshire, England, and Peggy (Danny Canon) of Kalaheo; grandchildren Ashley (Jeff Ritter) of Fort Rucker, Ala., Danielle of Kalaheo, Christopher and Michael of Moscow, Idaho; great-grandson Taylor of Fort Rucker, Ala.; and extended family Leilani, Kevin (Andrea), Sarina, Valerie, Jessie and Cody of Moscow, Idaho.
The funeral service will be held at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, on O‘ahu, at 11:30 a.m. on June 30, where Larry will be interned.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
Kenneth Chow
Kenneth A.T. Chow of Wailua died June 24, 2008, at Tripler Army Medical Center at the age of 79. Born Sept. 28, 1928, in Hawai‘i, he was a pressman printer for The Garden Island newspaper.
He is survived by wife Martha Huddy Chow of Wailua; daughters Lyndelle (Tommy) Makanai of Kapahi and Darlene (George) Thronas of Wailua; sons Ken Chow of Niumalu, Clayton (Kimberly) Chow of Wailua and Michael (Malia) Chow of Kapahi; hanai daughter Cheryl Doi Kuriki of Kapahi; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Aki Chow of Aiea and Raymond (Muriel) Chow of Texas; sisters Dorothy Hudy of Kapa‘a and Gladys Davis of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, July 4, at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church. Services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
