The 12th annual Psychic Faire ends today in Lihu‘e, but those of you gifted with a sixth sense might already know that.
Held in the lobby of the War Memorial Convention Hall, approximately 10 vendors gathered to give guidance to those seeking direction yesterday.
“People come by because they are looking for some kind of direction,” said greeter Dawna SuMaria.
A psychic with 49 years experience, SuMaria said the readers help individuals focus and become mindful of their own self-growth.
With soothing music playing softly in the background, people wandered around the tables deciding on which reader to see. A 15-minute session with SuMaria, for example, collected $25.
In addition to readings, Michael Govinda Kali Biaa offered energy healing massage.
“It’s really wonderful to assist people in the way of spiritual awareness,” said Biaa, also a spiritual teacher. “It’s all about what they experience for themselves and assisting then through that process. That’s why people come every year.”
Biaa said he had a session with his mother, who had suffered from blindness as a result of extensive heart surgery, that helped her regain her sight. The colors were so vivid to her that she was shocked, Biaa said.
“The reality of what this is is proven,” he said.
As for skeptics of energy healing massage, Biaa, who has more than 20 years experience, thinks they just need to try it.
“They don’t have to be receptive at all when they sit in my chair,” he said with a laugh. “This experience transcends disbelief.”
Other offerings at the event include psychic reading, aura photography, channel healing, intuitive empowerment, dream interpretation, Hawaiian healing and tarot card reading.
Erik Taylor, a tarot card reader, said he focuses on self-actualization through his readings.
“(It’s about) helping people get through their everyday things and be the best possible person they can be,” Taylor said.
He said he serves as a mirror for people’s issues, which he reflects back to them so they “see the scene as it really is.”
Going in as a skeptic, Debra McDonnell of Lihu‘e said her visit to the Psychic Faire was enlightening. McDonnell had psychic reading by Krystal Flores and visited Hawaiian healer Anne Punahou.
“It made me respect their abilities to read people’s body language and aura,” McDonnell said.
“It amazes me that the two people I went to hit things right on the head about me.”
The Psychic Faire continues today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lobby of the War Memorial Convention Hall.
