Body found by water in Kapa‘a

KAPA‘A — The body of a 46-year-old Kapa‘a man was found at the water’s edge yesterday morning near Otsuka’s Furniture and Appliances in Kapa‘a.

A person walking in the area at around 7:30 a.m. discovered the body and contacted police.

Police have identified the victim, but will not release his name until next of kin have been properly notified.

Police said there is no reason to believe foul play was involved.

Detective Todd Tanaka told The Garden Island that he expected an autopsy to be conducted, possibly as soon as today, to determine cause of death.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Tanaka at 241-1694 or Police Dispatch at 241-1711.
