Kane‘ohe’s Dean Wilson dropped out of the six-way tie for the lead yesterday by finishing 1-over 71 in the third round of the St. Jude Championship golf tournament, in Memphis, Tenn.
Wilson started off the round with a par and went on to birdie the second and third hols. He parred the par-3 fourth hole and bogeyed the fifth.
Wilson parred the rest and made the turn at 1 under. Looking safe on the back nine, he only made one bogey, on the 14th, that was evened out by a birdie on the 16th.
But a double bogey on the 17th led him to a 1-over finish and Wilson is now in a four-way tie in seventh place at 208 with Justin Leonard (67), Stephen Ames (68), Vijay Singh (70).
