Kaua‘i Community College commencement awards

Edward T. White Foundation Award for academic excellence: Language arts and humanities, Chenoa Amada Lizarraga, Associates Degree in Liberal Arts; Science and Mathematics, Jessica Anne Kau’ionalani Fu, Associates Degree in Liberal Arts; Business Education, Skye Wailana Christine Albarado, Business Technology; Trade Technology, Ka’iulani Carissa Sheldon, Electronics Technology; Health Education, Luana M. Puahala, Nursing.

Dr. Amadeo S. Timbol Award given to recognize one graduating liberal arts or nursing student of Filipino ancestry with interest in pursuing a B.S. degree in Natural Life Science or Nursing, based on academic achievement and potential for success in field. Mrs. Hannah Timbol presented in honor of her late husband to Jesusa Ganir for nursing.

The Masayo and Yoshio Ishii Award given for outstanding service, academic achievement with a cumulative GPA of 3.0, quality work performance, and potential for success. Recipient: Lisha Wu, for Liberal Arts.

The Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce Award given for outstanding performance to a Business Education major graduating student. Mr. Randy Francisco, president of the Kauai Chamber of Commerce presented to Theresa Feller for accounting.

The Hawai‘i Association of Public Accountants Award given for academic excellence to an accounting graduate, Jason Keith Waugh.

The American Culinary Federation Kaua‘i Chapter Award given to three graduates from Culinary Arts for academic excellence: Jacklaine Balanay Villanueva, Charie Mae Negrillo Zabala and John Michael Ballesteros Ruiz.

The Kaua‘i Community Federal Credit Union Award given to graduating Business Education student for academic excellence, Joni A. Bocalbos.

The Kaua‘i Office Equipment, Inc. Award: Merchandise awards given to two graduating Business Education students for academic excellence: Theresa Feller and Rhiannon Mariko Mandrigues Morales.

Emily Poaiokamanu Smith Travel Industry Award given to Hospitality and Tourism major graduating student for outstanding performance, Cheryl B. Domingo.

Grove Farm Co. Inc. Award to a graduating Business Education student for academic excellence. Student will be continuing her post-secondary education after receiving her Associate’s Degree. Mr. Michael Tresler, Senior Vice President of Grove Farm Co. Inc., presented to Brooke Pualeinani Planas.

Hawai‘i Society of Certified Public Accountants Award to a graduating Accounting degree student for outstanding performance and continuing in an Accounting major at a four-year college in Hawai’i: Edward L. Punua, Kaua`I, Liaison on the Board of Directors, presented to Justin Kainoaaloha Faford.

The New Car Dealers Award cash award given to outstanding Automotive Mechanics graduate. Wilmark V. Geronimo.

Glenn Ebesu Enterprises Award Snap-on gift certificate given to an Automotive Mechanics Technology graduate for outstanding achievement: Dawne K. Moriguchi.

Darryl Chong Award: MAC tools gift certificate given to an Automotive Mechanics Technology graduate for outstanding performance: Wilmark V. Geronimo.

Josifina A. Cortezan Nursing Award given for outstanding performance to a graduating student in Nursing who plans to pursue a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Mrs. Josephine Duvauchelle, former Director of Nursing, presented to Yvonne Rhonada Garcia.

Jeanette Justice Memorial Award certificate to a graduating student in Nursing for excellence in Psycho/Social Nursing: Mandi Akimi Higa.

Nursing Club Award to a graduating nursing student who has shown exemplary participation in service learning and community outreach events that promote health and wellness, and has supported the success of fellow nursing students while continuously maintaining high achievement standards: Nalani Vidal.
