Kaua‘i member of the state House of Representatives Roland Sagum III will be the commencement speaker at the Kaua‘i Community School for Adults annual commencement exercises at 6:30 p.m. at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall, June 3.
Sagum is in his first term as a state House member and sits on the Energy and Environmental Protection Committee as well as the House Finance Committee.
His political aspiration was a natural outgrowth of his community involvement including State Marine and Coastal Zone Management Advisory Group, Board of Directors of Kai Holo Canoe Club, HHSC Management Advisory Committee, Citizen Advisory member of the Kaua‘i County General Plan Update, Kaua‘i County Civil Service Commission and many more.
Sagum is currently the executive vice president of Kikiaola Land Company and has been associated professionally at different times as the planning and development coordinator of Kikiaola Land Company and as deputy planning director for the county of Kaua‘i.
After graduating from Kamehameha Schools in 1973, Sagum attended the University of Hawaii, Chaminade University, and the Hawai‘i Institute of Real Estate.
