Placencio Adviento

Placencio “Pacing” Adviento of Hanama‘ulu died at home on April 23, 2008, at the age of 89. Born Dec. 2, 1918, in the Philippines, he was retired from Wilcox Hospital and Coco Palms Hotel.

He is survived by wife Isabel Adviento, son John (Mary) Adviento, grandsons Keoni and Keoki Adviento, sister Mercedes Burcena, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 10, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation with the family will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the Adviento family with arrangements.

Florencio Agcaoili

Florencio Balisbisana Agcaoili of Koloa passed away on April 9, 2008, at the age of 86. Born on April 5, 1922, in Pallas, Vintar, Philippines, he was retired from McBryde Sugar Co. as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by parents Lucio and Pres-ca Agcaoili; brother Manuel Agcaoili; sister Angela Maltezo; and half-brother Florentino Agcaoili.

He is survived by wife Gloria R. Agcaoili; sons Albert (Jayne) Agcaoili, Oliver Agcaoili, James Agcaoili, Filmer Agcaoili, all of Koloa, Noel (Jeanalynn) Agcaoili of Lihu‘e and Denley (Ama) Agcaoili of Honolulu; four grandchildren; brothers Claro (Dominga) Agcaoili of Porterville, Calif., and Florendo (Virgie) Agcaoili of Stockton, Calif; sisters Emilia Jacinto of Koloa, Zenaida Ramos and Caridad Rivera, both of Vintar, Philippines; half-brothers Leandro (Lina) Agcaoili of Lihu‘e and Vincente (Naty) Agcaoili of Wailua; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapaia.

Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
