Darla Higa (no need to worry about two “b’s”, one “t,” anymore) said Jordon Dizon is graduating tomorrow and she’s bringing the “Congratulations, Jordon!” banner that shows his transformation from a Menehune to a Buffalo to a Lion for the little get-together for him after graduation.
Congratulations, Jordon. All of Kaua‘i is proud of you and your accomplishments.
Kudos to Patrick Watase, Rev. Leonard Abeshima and all of the Waimea Shingon Mission members on a great centennial, Sunday.
Kent Tanigawa, Brian Yamamoto and Mark Oyama were all out helping Patrick with their special skills and watching the combined efforts of these Kaua‘i Community College professionals bring the meaning of gratitude and appreciation to life.
On the social side, even Kura Hirokawa (all 80+ years and still umpiring) came to the event and was remembering the old days with Eleanor Sasaki (Clesson Lee is coming home at the end of the month).
Unfortunately, Arthur Brun had to enjoy the PONY game for the Camper since Waimea is a long way from Lihu‘e. But congratulations to coach Bobby Texeira (Carol must have been in the outfield) and his staff for remaining undefeated. This sets up Sunday’s game when Lihu‘e 1 goes to Hanapepe for a match against the Hanapepe Cubs.
Eldran Rabago was going to check out the game, too, but ended up at the Waimea Shingon Mission for the centennial. Can you get away for the 10 a.m. single game?
OK, ‘nuff said … time to go visit Ross Shimabukuro and the finals of the state girls golf at Wailua Golf Course.
