Carol Germo
Carol Dean Ululani Kaleimamahu Germo died on April 6, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 68. Born on Dec. 24, 1939, in Honolulu, she was a dedicated Minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She is survived by husband Gerry Germo; son William “Billy” Richie of Louisiana; daughters Tina Germo of Anahola, Jennifer (Louis) Rodriguez of Wailua, Tobbie (Steve) Tuttle of Anahola, Naomi (Ryan) Tehada of Wailua; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special nieces Lei “Aloha” Kaleimamahu, Malia DeFries; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kapa‘a. Services begin at 2 p.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the Germo family with arrangements.
Miriam Wong
Miriam Polikapu Mundon Wong passed away on April 12, 2008, at her home with her sons and daughters by her side. She was 91 years young with many happy memories raising nine children. Miriam was a nurse but spent most of her life as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Larry Ah Chin Wong.
She is survived by sons Herbert Lanakila (Rachel) Mundon of California, Stanley Ho‘onani (Mara Lani) Wong of O‘ahu, Amos Wong of Koloa, Lawrence Wong of O‘ahu; daughters Mokihana Charlotte (Roland) Ruiz of Koloa, Miriam Napua (Tony) Romo of Kalaheo, Ruth (Dan) Inafuku of O‘ahu, Tamara Laulani (Boone) Morrison of Volcano, Big Island, and Paula Leimamo Wong of O‘ahu; brother Abraham Mundon of Kapa‘a; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Remembrance service will be held with visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church; service will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Mitsuyoshi Sanada
Mitsuyoshi Jimmy Sanada of Waimea passed away on April 14, 2008, at the age of 85. Born on May 3, 1922, in Hanapepe, he was an ambulance driver for the state government.
He is survived by wife Norma Sanada of Waimea, step-son Harvey (fiancee Mary Jo) Loza of Waimea; two grandchildren; brothers Hiroki Sanada, Aaron Sanada, both of Honolulu, and George Sanada of Minnesota; sister Margaret Young of Honolulu; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 26, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at noon followed by burial at the Hanapepe Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
Beverly Young
Beverly Ann Young of Kapa‘a died at home on April 18, 2008, at the age of 58. She was born on March 16, 1950, in Provo, Utah, and was self-employed as a Rolfer and is best known for her dream-inspired artwork .
She is survived by brothers Ray, Terry, and Chuck Young; and many beloved friends.
A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, at the north end of Kealia Beach. Please bring a candle, chair or towel.
