The Governor’s Kaua‘i Community Advisory Council will meet tomorrow at 5 p.m. in the Mo‘ikeha Building, meeting rooms 2A/2B at 4444 Rice St., in Lihu‘e.
Transportation Department Director Brennon Morioka and Deputy Transportation Director for Harbors Mike Formby will make a presentation on the state’s harbors modernization plan.
The six-year, $824-million harbors modernization plan calls for major improvements to the state’s harbors, including $10.3 million for Nawiliwili Harbor.
Governor Linda Lingle created community advisory councils to give the Neighbor Islands a stronger voice in state government. The Kaua‘i Community Advisory Council holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the governor.
The members of Kaua‘i’s council are James Anakalea, Stewart Burley, Linda Collins, Vilamor Galiza, Maka‘ala Ka‘aumoana, Barbara Smith, Matt Takata and Leo Trinidad.
