Beth Cuizon is getting ready for the Waimea High School band concert, but guess what? The hall they were planning to use is being renovated so now she has to scramble for lights so they can play on the school’s lawn. Anyone have a tent in case she wears her green shirt? Beth says it always rains when she wears green.
Beth and Catherine Paleka had full days Saturday. The Waimea High School band performed at the Child-Family Fair at Kukui Grove while the Kapa‘a High School drum line (good thing they have chorus members who can do percussion) was at the Kaua‘i Special Olympics before performing at the Child-Family event, too.
Catherine said, from there, some of the kids had Rose Bowl practice, too. Beth said there are about seven or eight of her students in the Rose Bowl parade, too. But, in the meantime, next Tuesday is the Waimea concert.
Penni Taketa was working with Ae Kamali‘i preschools at the Child-Family Fair, and then it was off to the finals of the inline hockey league, Sunday.
Todd Mayer’s Green Bantams put up a good fight, but in the end, Mark Lewis said it was the Devils who took the division in overtime.
Nick Abramo said he was here for that game in spirit. They still have a couple more weeks in their season on O‘ahu.
In the meantime, Barbara Bloemke is getting ready to do the lights for “Aladdin Jr.” this Friday at Kalaheo School. After the production run, it’s off to Australia, and back in time for the Teacher Cohort program.
