5 p.m. tomorrow at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort
“Going Green” takes on a new meaning when Island School hosts its 29th annual gala auction at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort & Beach Club. The event’s live auction is an island favorite, with “Surfer Joe” Teipel at the auction block. Featured entertainment this year is the famous Willie K with a guest appearance by world-renowned surfer, Dave Kalama.
Additional gala events include a buffet, open wine bar and silent auction. The auction is the school’s signature fundraiser and will perpetuate “going green” efforts as well as keeping tuition costs affordable and the ability to give tuition aid.
Island School has dedicated its effort to go green with an eco-friendly program focused on sustainibility and keeping the campus — and all of Hawai‘i — green. These efforts are proactive steps toward a better future while educating the youth on the steps of achieving these goals.
The evenings festivities include: MC Sandy Swift; Mark McGuiness; a 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. cocktail hour; Mango Brothers, catered dinner hour at 6 p.m.; Titus Kinimaka with the Kaua‘i Boys.
For dancing only, enter at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20. For more information, visit theloquatlounge@hotmail.com. Tickets available at Kilauea School for $35.
