Tsutayo Tanabe Saito
Tsutayo Tanabe Saito of Lihu‘e died on March 19, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 99. A lifelong resident of Kaua‘i born Aug. 2, 1908, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by son Edwin (Jaja) of Hawai‘i Kai; lifetime caregiver So Mi of Mililani; grandchildren Dean of Honolulu, Michelle of Campbell, Calif., and Scotty of Honolulu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.

Thomas Joseph “Mick” Callahan IV died on March 16, 2008, at the age of 59. Born July 1, 1949, in New Port, R.I., he was the proprietor of Callahan Construction Co. for more than 30 years in Hanalei.
He was an amazing and loving father and grandfather, a winning coach for the AYSO Hanalei Tsunami soccer team for 10 years, and one of the founding members of NaMolokama O‘Hanalei Canoe Club. Mick was a coach for men, women and children, and his competitive spirit proved strong in everything he did. He was also an avid waterman.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Liz Callahan of Princeville; daughter Sabrina Ahulani Callahan-Lloyd; son-in-law Jeremy Lloyd; granddaughter Emmalani Victoria (9 years old) of Wainiha; son Thomas Joseph “TJ” Callahan V; daughter-in-law Cheryl; granddaughter Kaia Jade (3 years old) of Huntington Beach, Calif.; sister Patricia Hollinger; brother-in-law Joe; nephew Michael of Sacramento, Calif.; companion Katie Love Curtis and Alex of Kilauea; numerous relatives of San Diego.
He will be greatly missed by Czar, the other two musketeers, his paddling crew, work and business associates and many family and friends whose lives he touched.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, at the old Hanalei Canoe Club.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the Callahan family with arrangements.
