Kealia Arena, located across the highway from Kealia Beach, is the site for the second Kaua‘i All Girl Rodeo Association event coming up Sunday.
According to KAGRA Secretary Linda Antipala, the Grand Entry marks the start of the rodeo at 10 a.m. when the field of female competitors take to the arena led by flag bearers carrying the American flag, the Hawaiian flag and the KAGRA standard.
Admission to the highly-competitive event is free and the public is invited to cheer on their favorite cowgirls, Antipala said.
On the agenda for the day-long event are Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Steer Undecorating, Breakaway Roping and Dally Team Roping.
Lunch, snacks and refreshments are available from a lunch wagon which will be parked near the arena.
The YMCA of Kaua‘i, the County of Kaua‘i and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority are the major sponsors of the KAGRA rodeo.
