KALAHEO — James Stevens and Marlon Cudiamat each scored 22 points as Hanakila rolled over Westside, 56-10, Tuesday night.
In the second matchup, Kainoa Simao and Tystin Gummerus finished with 9 and 8 points, respectively, to give Papalina a 50-19 win over the efforts of the Gee Unit at the county’s 11 and Under boys basketball season.
Hanakila lost little time getting the ball rolling as Cudiamat netted 6 points in the opening frame with Stevens and Justin Apilado each adding a pair for a quick 10-1 lead, Westside’s only score coming from Charlie Rabago who split a charity pair.
Following the scoring leaders who accounted for 44 of Hanakila’s 56 points, Apilado finished with 6 points and AJ Cummings rounded out the win with 4 points. A pair from Jackson McCouglough finalized the math.
Rabago topped the Westside effort with 5 points followed by a bomb from 3-point land from B. Agu and a pair from Kohana Rapozo rounding out the books.
Following the Papalina scoring leaders, Kelson Andrade, Javan Torres, Curren Dillberg, clearly a fan favorite, and Marcus Brown netted 4 points apiece in a balanced scoring attack. Pairs from Austin Salvador and Peterson Lahip and a digit from Kalawaia Judd rounded out the win.
Tyler Fernandez, limited to just one field goal from outside the 3-point arc, finished with 9 points to lead the Gee Unit effort. Lansen Eto added 6 points and Kelii Colipano finished with 4 points in the effort.
