Jane Garma was at the head of a bunch of parents who spent a morning in Lihu‘e before heading to the Waimea High School carnival. Jane and Tony Garma are at the head of the Westside Falcon soccer program and were at the KSA games, Saturday.
Janice Bond was doing double-duty, Saturday, setting up the tobacco legislation table before getting involved with the MDA’s Stride & Ride event. Kelsie Lima is the cousin of Kaua‘i honoree Jordyn Valdez and did the national anthem to open up the program. Hats off to Allicyn Hayes who took over the reins of the program less than two weeks ago and pulled off a great event with the help of Audrey Hirayama.
William and Anita Kaneakua and Jessie Akagi were busy getting the bonsai set up for the Girl’s Day (the topic of Girl’s Day vs. Children’s Day was the topic of the last Wal-Mart Club meeting) program at Kukui Grove, and Bernie Sakoda and Wanda Shibata took their turn manning the tobacco legislation table.
Wanda and Myles also showed up at the PAIRS GLO celebration where they couldn’t pass up on the AOHT orchids from the Big Island. Joe and Tina Brun had come from the Kaua‘i/Mid Pacific baseball game and had a Po’s Kitchen box lunch (Ross Shimabukuro was enjoying one of them, too) to wrap up the day.
Happy Girls Day, Kaua‘i!
